Chairperson – Kiongozi Youth Organization
Philip Mwendwa Harrison
Philip Mwendwa Harrison is a visionary youth leader, community mobilizer, and passionate advocate for climate action, social equity, and youth empowerment. As the Chairperson of Kiongozi Youth Association, he leads bold, youth-driven initiatives that foster climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and economic transformation at the grassroots level.
With a solid background in security and risk management spanning over nine years, Philip brings a powerful blend of strategic leadership, grassroots advocacy, and policy engagement. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Security Studies from Chuka University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration. His leadership is further enriched by multiple professional and leadership trainings in governance, investigations, and youth development.
Philip currently serves on the Governing Council of the Protective and Safety Association of Kenya (PROSAK), where he contributes to shaping policy and advancing professionalism in the safety sector. His leadership journey began at Chuka University, where he served as Director of Welfare (2012–2016), championing student welfare and comradeship.
He has also served with Peace Ambassadors Kenya, a national NGO promoting peacebuilding and social cohesion, and continues to play an active role in national development through his work with the Mbooni Development Forum and the Technical Alumni Association (TAA), supporting mentorship, civic engagement, and local empowerment.
Driven by purpose and guided by service, Philip believes in the transformative power of youth to lead change—and he remains at the forefront of conversations and actions shaping a greener, fairer, and more inclusive future for all.

Judith Mbeneka Mbithi
Judith Mbeneka Mbithi is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and community development and currently serving as the Treasurer at Kiongozi Youth Organization. In this vital role, she meticulously manages the organization’s financial resources, ensuring transparency and accountability in all operations.
Kiongozi Youth Organization, with Judith’s dedicated support, spearheads vital initiatives ranging from climate change advocacy and awareness to robust youth empowerment programs. The organization is also at the forefront of the fight against drug and substance abuse, alongside many other community-focused endeavors aimed at nurturing a responsible and engaged young generation. Judith’s meticulous financial oversight directly contributes to the success and expansion of these critical programs, enabling the organization to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless young people and the broader community.

Project Manager- Kiongozi Youth Organization
Benson Wambua Nzangi
Benson Nzangi is a passionate and visionary youth leader serving as the Project Secretary of the Kiongozi Youth Association. With deep roots in his rural village, Benson has always been driven by a desire to uplift his community and protect the environment. His leadership journey began at Nduluku High School, where he served as a class representative and later student council member, laying the foundation for his commitment to service and responsibility.
In his current role, Benson is instrumental in coordinating climate change initiatives within the association. He oversees the planning and implementation of tree-planting campaigns, community clean-up projects, and sustainable farming training sessions for youth. His strong organizational skills and clear communication have helped mobilize hundreds of young people to take action on environmental issues.
Benson’s vision is to build a generation of environmentally conscious youth who are equipped to tackle climate challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions. He believes that real change begins at the grassroots, and he uses his solid village background to connect deeply with the needs and aspirations of rural communities.
Through his transformative leadership, Benson has inspired many young people to become climate ambassadors. His work continues to shape a greener, more resilient future for his community, proving that with dedication and a clear vision, youth can lead the fight against climate change.
